Milan eye third straight derby victory over Inter

AC Milan could express a blow for Inter's hope to keep the Scudetto if they are confronted with their city rivals on Sunday.

The title Tussle is a race of two horses between Inter and Napoli, with both in impressive form, but Milan has the possibility to shift the dial.

The Sergio Conukicao team is seventh with 34 points, while the second placed inter -placed interior, three behind leaders Napoli are with a competition in hand.

A victory in the Della Madonnina derby could not only disrupt the Titlepush of Inter, but also the Rossoneri Rossoneri campaign after an underwhelming season so far.

Milan has a recent history by their side and has already defeated Inter this season – once in the competition in September and again in the Supercopa Italiana final earlier this month.

A third consecutive victory would give Milan more than just bragging the city; It would mark the first time since 2011 that they had achieved three consecutive victories over their rivals.

Conuicao, who appeared 41 Serie A with Inter between 2001 and 2003, could be the second Milan coach in the last 35 years to win his first two Derbies against the Nerazzurri in all competitions, after Massimiliano Allegri between 2010 and 2011.

Both parties are confronted with injury problems, with Emerson Royal Sike for Milan because of a veal problem. New signature Kyle Walker, however, can stand in line to make his debut after he was on loan at Lian van Manchester City.

Inter can be stimulated by the return of Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi, who, according to the Italian media reports, are approaching full fitness.

The most important question will be whether Milan can break the loyal defense of Inter.

Inter has held a clean slate in seven games immediately in the Serie A and won all those games with an aggregated score of 23-0. Only Milan (eight between November 1993 and March 1994) have reached more clean sheets in a row of home in the history of the competition.

Motta under pressure

Elsewhere Juventus Empoli organizes on Sunday in a competition that Thiago Motta hopes will mark the start of a turnaround.

Juventus was undefeated in the competition to a narrow 2-1 loss for Napoli last Saturday, but they left 13 draws in 22 games fifth, two points on drift of the top four.

After the 2-0 Champions League defeat on Wednesday at home at Benfica, the pressure on Motta is mounting on the rails again.

Juventus has won only eight of their first 22 Series A matches this season; The last time that the Bianconeri won fewer than nine games on this point of a campaign was in 1987-88. On that occasion they won their 23rd game against Pisa.

The side of Motta has been criticized due to a lack of attacking thrust, and the average time of their sequences in the Serie A is 15.2 seconds this season – the longest in the competition.

Empoli, on the other hand, is the most direct side in the division, with their average series of seven seconds.

Motta also has problems in defense. Pierre Kalulu grabbed a dijing injury in the loss for Benfica and will miss the game on Sunday, and with Bremer, Andrea Cambiaso and Juan Cabal already put aside, Juve's Backline looks increasingly vulnerable.

Difficult tests for Napoli and Atalanta

In the meantime, Napoli from Antonio Conte travels to Roma on Sunday, after he had achieved seven consecutive competition extraction.

However, Roma is unbeaten in their last six league games, but after a shaky start under Claudio Ranieri, who was appointed as the third coach of the season in November.

The third placed Atalanta-guestheer Torino on Saturday, after a challenging run that only won them once in their last five league games to fall seven points behind Napoli.

Il Toro could be awkward opponents who have become undefeated five league matches (one victory, four draws), who go the last six without losing between January and February last year.

Torino also won the Return match 2-1, so that since 2015-16 they have completed their first competition-double double over Atalanta.
