Miranda Maverick reveals significant leg injury suffered in UFC Atlanta loss to former champion Rose Namajunas

UFC Flyweight Competer Miranda Maverick can be put aside for a while after her loss at UFC Atlanta.

The Vier-Vecht Winning Streak by Miranda Maverick came to a disappointing end in a loss for former UFC champion Rose Namajunas at the UFC Atlanta Co-Main event. In a back and forth battle through three rounds, Namajunas defeated Maverick through a unanimous decision to continue her rising ranking.

Despite the fact that Namajunas was brought in a short problems with a late-round submission attempt, Maverick was unable to retain her usually fempy pace against the former champion. While the last Hoorn marked the end of round 3, Maverick struggled to return and hoped back to her corner when her team waited for the official decision.

It appears that Maverick has suffered more than a loss at UFC Atlanta.

Miranda Maverick indicates long absence after injury suffered at UFC Atlanta

In a recent Instagram post, Maverick broke her silence on social media and shared a serious injury that she walked halfway through her UFC Atlanta Co-Headliner.

“Not the result I wanted, but I fought with what I had. My ACL was torn apart in the second round (I will have to look again to know exactly when, but I think it was during a Takedown change). I never fell, but I was unstable on my legs so quickly as soon as I was hit in the third round,” Maverick said.

“I am blessed that I could reach the end of the fight and I am honored that I have to share the cage with the legend [Rose Namajunas] I will start this dismissal and you will see me again! But for now time to recover and find some things.

“Thank you to my coaches, training partners, managers, fans and of course my family for being in my corner and always care about the results! Thank you [UFC] To give such an experience. '

At the moment it is uncertain how long Maverick will be sidelined because of her torn ACL. She will probably miss at least the rest of 2025, and possibly a huge part of 2026 while moving full force in recovery.

Before he fell to Namajunas in UFC Atlanta, Maverick earned recent victories over Jamey-Lyn Horth, Dione Barbosa and Andrea Lee. She and Namajunas are former sparring partners, who date from their time as teammates in Colorado.
