One of the best hunters in MMA still seemed to have a lot in the tank when he retired from sport last year.
Less than two years ago, Demetrious Johnson had the last fight in his career in one championship and he established his trilogy with Adriano Moraes. The Brazilian was the only man outside the UFC and WEC to beat him, but Johnson got it back with a knockout victory and a decision to seal his place on top of the division.
After a year out of operation, 'Mighty Mouse' chose to compete and made an emotional pension last September. Now, a year later, he has had offers, but he is not interested in even entertaining such a prospect.
Demetrious Johnson offers a negative update about MMA -Comeback
Despite the fact that he still feels that he is in a world championship, Demetrious Johnson is not interested in returning to the cage. He feels that he is an era of the use of his body to earn money, apart from modeling jobs and other efforts.
“There must be a time that it is if:” Ok, when is it enough? “” Johnson told MMA Junkie. “I felt that after the fight of Adriano (Moraes) is the Pinnacle. I was UFC champion, I was a championship champion, there is nothing else for me to prove here. What, earning more money?”
Although there have been offers, nobody even aroused his interest. “I had great offers,” he continued. “Had a few offers in, and I am:” No, I'm good, “because I feel that I am trying to be a man of my word.
“I told myself that I would never take a fight to make money. Those days of using my body to earn money are over. I am not going to sign and fight a contract.”
Demetrious Johnson had emotional pension last May
In September last year, Johnson entered De Kooi in Denver after he was mentioned in the Hall of Fame for one championship. He announced the crowd in a tear that he would withdraw from sport at the age of 38.
“First of all, I want to thank the fans,” he told the crowd as he stitched the tears. “You have always been great for me while I live my dreams and show my passion through martial arts.
“I want to thank all my teammates from the very beginning in 2006 to 2024, it has been a long journey. Thanks to Matt, thanks to my wife and my children, my mother -in -law.
