Mo Salah hits back at Jamie Carragher with crushing comment

The Liverpool striker issued a succinct critique of the former Red and current pundit after criticizing the Egyptian.

Liverpool have three 'open cases' active, with the futures of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil Van Dijk still clouded in uncertainty

All three players have been crucial pillars for Anfield Road over the years and with their current deal with the club expiring on June 30, all three are now in a position to freely negotiate with potential suitors.

Former 'Red' Jamie Carragher analyzed the situation on Sky Sports this weekend, with Egypt striker Salah later claiming Carragher had an “obsession” with him.

Uncertain futures

All three players deal with the situation differently in terms of communication. Just after the match against United, Virgil Van Dijk spoke in the mixed zone about his contractual situation, saying there was “no update” on the subject. On the other hand, Salah decided to upload a photo of the three of them on social media without any text, with Trent Alexander-Arnold refusing to comment on his social media platforms.

Carragher later urged Trent and Salah to “take note” of Van Dijk, adding: “I will say Van Dijk has come out of this situation better as captain of the club and I have more respect for him. The way he behaved and played. He did not get involved in any of this and I would like to pay tribute to Virgil as he behaved like a statesman. He has been asked questions and he has not shied away from them. He wants to win the Premier League and does everything he can for Liverpool. I hope he renews. The other two (TAA and Salah) could take note of Van Dijk and follow his example,” he added.

Salah said on X/Twitter late on Monday night that Carragher has an 'obsession' with him. Using the platform, the Egypt international reposted the video uploaded by Sky Sports with this opinion of Carragher, replying: “I'm starting to think you're obsessed with me,” he said.

The 32-year-old has scored 21 goals and provided a career-high 17 assists in 27 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup so far this season.
