Mohamed Salah has remained tight-lipped about the prospect of Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold joining Real Madrid.
The pair are in the final six months of their contract at Anfield, together with captain Virgil van Dijk.
The club is working on extension offers for all three, but time is against the Premier League leaders.
Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk are all eligible to open pre-contract talks with non-English clubs as alternative options.
Real Madrid are doing everything they can to secure their long-standing interest in Alexander-Arnold through a transfer, but Salah's next move is unknown.
The Egypt international was quick to play down reports he is considering a move to La Liga amid reports he is learning Spanish, and admitted Alexander-Arnold is not giving anything away.
“I'm learning the language a little bit, and I can say things like 'how are you?' but that doesn't mean I'm thinking about living in Spain,” he told TNT Sports via Mundo Deportivo.
'Trent isn't very talkative [about his plans]But he's crazy, and I love him very much.'
Liverpool are hoping to reach a solution before the end of January, but they are unlikely to approve the sale of Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this month.
