Mo Salah has entered Liverpool for the last three months of his contract and remains on track to leave Anfield as a free agent when his deal ends in the summer
Fans of Liverpool believe that the appearance of Mo Salah was one of the most famous sights of the city to film a new contract announcement. Salah, 32, sees his current deal with the Reds expired in June, which means that he is on course to leave as a free agent when the summer transfer window is opened.
The Egyptian may enjoy his best season since he came to Liverpool from Roma in 2017, scored 27 goals and collecting 17 assists in just 29 Premier League matches to put his side in pole position to win the title. But in the midst of his spectacular form, speculation about his future has been widespread.
Salah went public in November to claim that he feels 'more out' in Liverpool, which is the time that he had not made a formal offer. The 32-year-old has dropped several hints that it will be his last season in Anfield, although supporters believe that a new deal can now be ahead.
Before Wednesday's Merseyside Derby collision with Everton, a photo emerged from Salah for cameras in the Royal Albert-Dok of Liverpool in a Club Brandedis. The attacker could be seen smiling, standing on what a boat seems to be. It remains unclear when the photo was taken.
A frenzy started on social media, a fan posted excited on x: “Contact extension !!!!!” A second added: “Would be somewhat poetic if he scores tonight and helps for a 2-0 win, and then LFC officially announces the details of the contract that has been signed and sealed.”
A third said on social media platform Reddit, where the image was posted: “If you think I will be so stupid to believe that this single photo means that he has signed a new contract, you would be right.”
Another reference was made to Salah's last contract announcement that was made in 2022 amidst a large money movement to Paris Saint-Germain. “If I remember well that his previous contract renewal is when he was on holiday by the sea, here he will follow that he will follow a similar theme,” she noticed.
The photo that is shared online, coincides with reports from France that Salah almost matches a new two -year -old deal with the Reds. However, some fans were more pessimistic, with one who said, “Filming a farewell …”
Other supporters theoretized that Salah could have filmed an advertisement for one of the many sponsors of Liverpool. If so, it is unlikely that it is Nike, which will be replaced by Adidas as the Reds kit manufacturer from the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is cautious about the future of Salah throughout the season, as well as that of Sterren Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, whose contracts with Liverpool also end on 30 June. In January, Slot confirmed: “Everyone wants him, including us.
“We want him to extend, of course – that is clear. I am not surprised that Saudi wants him, but it would not surprise me if other countries want him too. He is old enough and wise enough and has done so many smart things in his career that he will make the right decision for himself and, hopefully, also for us.”
