Mohammed Usman stood on the edge of his chair and looked at how his brother Kamaru Usman returned to the UFC Win column.
June is a big month for the Usman family. Last weekend, former UFC champion welterweight and pound-for-pound Koning Kamaru Usman received his hand lifted for the first time since 2021. Usman dominated top candidate Joaquin Buckley in the five-round main event of UFC Atlanta.
A week later, Kamaru's brother, UFC Heavyweight Mohammed Usman, will make his own return all over the world at UFC Baku in Azerbaijan, where he will take on Hamdy Abdelwahab this Saturday.
Usman was very emotional after his decision victory over Buckley, just like his brother.

Mohammed Usman on the return of Kamaru Usman: 'My heart raced the whole fight'
Mohammed Usman spoke unfiltered on UFC and gave his response to his brother Kamaru who returned to the win column after 1,316 days.
“I was ecstatic,” said Usman.
“He is my brother. Like, he wins, I win. That is the feeling that you get from looking at your brother.
“I stayed up to see his fight. You know the nerves, they never leave. So I look at the whole fight and every time he is in a stand -up situation with Buckley. I'm like that, get him. Take it down. Take it down …
“Don't give him too much time, because everything is about advantages and disadvantages. The more Buckley it would stand up, that is his advantage. Get him where you want him. My heart racet the whole fight, man.
“When he managed it, I also tore up,” admitted Usman.
“I mean, it's my brother, man. As you get older, I think you get more soft in the aspect of your family everything we have. And it's like you just want your family to be good, man. I know my mother was there, dad, everyone smiled. I just felt very happy for him.”
Kamaru Usman says that Joaquin Buckley hits like a 'brick'
While Usman's comeback battle was won in a dominant way, the powerful Buckley had his moments in round 5 when he exchanged strikes with the former champion.
Usman apparently had flashbacks of his round 5 KO loss for Leon Edwards and decided not to strive for the finish.
With more than a few punches in the final round, Usman says that Buckley has hands with stone.
“If you are hit with a brick, you would also be swollen,” Usman said on the podcast of 4 pounds.
'I was hit with a brick …
“Every shot is with strength. Not his last shot, it is his first, second, third, fourth and last. They are all with power,” said Usman about Buckley's strikes.
