Molly McCann breaks down in tears after retirement of UFC London
McCann refused to publicly retire in the structure of her fight at UFC London.
The 34-year-old has since admitted that Van Mma was walking away during the camp was in mind.
McCann broke into tears several times and explained why she mentioned time on her career.
“When I broke my leg last year,” McCann said after I was asked when she first started thinking about retirement during an interview after the fight with TNT Sports.
“It took me everything to come back, and it was really difficult for my body. I am not a spring tip and everything kept breaking in the camp. It went wrong.
“I just give the best report of myself. If I felt inside, I felt good. I was amed. I was pumped, but to get excess in the first round, I am not good enough to be there. And that's okay.
“I am not here to make up figures, I am here to win. If I don't win such a fight, I don't earn it to wear the gloves, in my opinion.
“This is the best of the best in the world. It doesn't matter what I have done in my past, and where I have taken this sport, you don't live from your earlier versions. I am not good enough now, that is the top and the bottom of it.”
Molly McCann's UFC Legacy
McCann has never come close to a UFC title, but she will be remembered forever by British Vecht fans.
The Liverpudlian will always be the first British woman to include a victory in the UFC Octagon.
McCann parade with the UFC rim after a beautiful rotating elbow knockout on UFC London three years ago.
What is perhaps the largest KO in the MMA history of women will not be surpassed quickly.
So, whatever she does, McCann's inheritance in combat sports has already been put in stone.
