Moment Anfield roof LEAKS during Man Utd draw as away fans sing cheeky chant

MANCHESTER UNITED fans let out a cheeky chant during their clash with Liverpool after one of Anfield's roofs started leaking. The Red Devils faithful have become accustomed to the roofs of Old Trafford's aging stands leaking when heavy rain showers occur.

They were therefore very pleased to see leaks at the home of their bitter rival Liverpool last Sunday.

Images shared on social media showed streams of water dripping from one of the stands during the match.

And the leaks prompted traveling United fans to mock the famous home of their sworn enemies.

They repeatedly sang: “Anfield is falling down, Anfield is falling down!”

Footie fans were quick to comment, with one saying: “New roof too.”

Another said: “Anfield roof is leaking and it's supposedly brand new.”

And another said: “Anfield is leaking like a tap! Shouldn't that be their new stand?”

It is unclear whether the leaking water dripped onto the fans present, who were treated to a pulsating second half of football.

The fierce rivals shared the points thanks to a 2-2 draw.

Lisandro Martinez broke the deadlock in the 52nd, firing the visitors ahead with a stunning finish near the post.

Cody Gapko leveled the score with a scintillating goal seven minutes later.

Mohammed Salah looked to have won the game for the Reds from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.

But Amad Diallo made sure the victory was shared ten minutes later with a neat finish from the penalty area.

United boss Ruben Amorim was delighted with the mentality of his struggling troops but said: “The other games make me even angrier.

'Some things are even more difficult to understand.

“This is not about the system, the technology, it's about something else…

“I'm upset today, very upset. I'm happy with the performance, but everyone will say today that the team did a good job.

“Today I may be the only one angry with the team, but today we were a team.

“We played some good games in the last month, but then we dropped again.

“It's something we have to be very consistent about.

“We had this conversation after the win against Manchester City, it was the same.

“I want to see my team play so much better.

But I think the most important thing we have to address today is the mentality and that is the key for everything.

“Today we were a different team, not because of the system, not because of a technical or tactical aspect.

“We competed like we should every day.

“Training and competition do not fit the place, the opponent, that we face every day.”
