A MOUSE was spotted at Old Trafford during Manchester United's late comeback win over Southampton.
The discovery was made by a fan sitting in the Stretford End who shared a video on a popular social media account.
United, who were ten minutes away from the embarrassment of losing at home to Southampton before Amad Diallo's 12-minute hat-trick, disgusted the fans in more ways than one.
During last night's match, an
Attached was a video of a field mouse stuck between the concrete floor and the back of a chair in front of it.
It showed an empty field, leading many to speculate that it had been taken before the match or at half-time.
The fan did not warn those around in the clip, but felt it was best saved for social media.
The video has been viewed more than 4,000 times, with one fan writing: “This is disgusting!”
Another fan wrote: “So gross 🤢”, while a third said: “It's all falling, reset everything from the beginning.”
Meanwhile, a rodent was seen running across the United pitch, while Saints keeper Aaron Ramsdale was spotted in the distance.
Manchester United declined to comment when contacted by SunSport.
It is believed that the rodent problem stems from the fact that Old Trafford is sandwiched between a railway line and a canal.
It comes after The Mail reported a mouse plague at Old Trafford in December.
During a hygiene inspection, rodent droppings were reportedly found in food kiosks and plush suites.
While more were unearthed during checks of a ground floor business suite.
As a result, United's hygiene rating dropped from four to two stars at the end of 2024.
In November, fans spotted a dead rat in a puddle under a chair.
The club has now been ordered to make drastic improvements to increase their hygiene rating.
And officials are now working with pest controllers to solve the problem.
It is believed they will make up to five visits a week as United aim to achieve a full five-star rating like most Premier League clubs.
The shocking discovery comes just a year after the Red Devils were given a one-star hygiene rating by inspectors.
SunSport revealed that guests were served raw chicken at an event at Old Trafford and subsequently fell ill.
United only achieved its recent four-star rating in November.
And the rodent incident is a setback in their quest to regain their status as the league's top club.
Fans have long thought the Theater of Dreams could use a lick of paint, with the century-old arena even leaking water during a recent press conference with manager Ruben Amorim.
It comes after water was seen pouring down from a damaged roof during recent matches.
Ratcliffe now hopes to build a new £2 billion mega-stadium while revamping the surrounding area.
The Red Devils are 12th in the table, after just seven wins in 21 games this season.
