Morgan Gibbs-White signs three-year contract at Nottingham Forest amid Spurs interest

Morgan Gibbs-White said that he was “excited for what is going to come” after extending his contract in Nottingham Forest until 2028.

The future of the 25-year-old in the city area was uncertain after Tottenham had made an £ 60 million bid for the International of England.

Forest considered legal steps against the North -London club about whether a confidentiality agreement was violated in the midfielder's contract.

Gibbs-White has been an important player for Forest and scored 18 goals and scored 28 assists in 118 games, which finished seventh last season and qualifies for the Europa League.

He said to the club's website: “I felt at home in Forest from the moment I arrived. The support of the fans, my teammates and everyone in the club was incredible.

“I believe in what we are building here – and with the support of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I am enthusiastic about what is to come.”

Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Nottingham Forest, added: “Morgan is a special player – not only in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless and proud.

“There was a lot of interest from different clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan in its heart. I promised our fans that we would not only compete, but would be stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey.”
