Motive behind series of rapid Barcelona contract renewals revealed

In recent weeks, Barcelona has locked up some of their most important players in long -term deals, which seems to be good for them in the future. The Blaugrana has contracted the trend in recent years by ignoring the transfer market in January, and in this specific case, links to Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, who prefer to prioritize the extensions of contracts.

However, it may not be the strategic move it appeared on the outside. Barcelona signed Gerard Martin for the first time for a new deal, followed by new deals for star players Ronald Arajo, Gavi, Pedri and most recently Pau Cubarsi. Discussions are expected to come to a positive conclusion with Inigo Martinez and Robert Lewandowski also soon.

The sudden flow of innovations can be again offered about their position of their salary limit. In December, Barcelona had agreed the sale of 475 VIP chairs for € 100 million, so that they lease out for the next 30 years from the moment Camp Nou reopens. That was in theory to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but also brought Barcelona back to their salary limit for the first time in three years and to facilitate the restrictions on expenditure.

According to Joan Fontes, the hurry to do innovations is because they fear that this will no longer be the case by the summer. La Liga is not only suspicious of the deal to sell the lease contracts for the 475 VIP chairs that can completely cancel the impact on the salary limit, but can also be of the opinion that it must be justified per year, since the deal is valid For 30 years, which means that it would yield little more than € 3.3 million per season for their salary limit calculations, instead of € 100 million this season.

As such, Barcelona can again spend their salary limit if this comes into place and is therefore re -subject to stricter relegations. Currently, clubs above their salary limit can only spend 60% of what they bring in or save on new signing sessions and salaries, making every recruitment difficult.
