Motta hails ‘extraordinary relationship’ with Juve match-winner Vlahovic

Thiago Motta says he has an “extraordinary relationship” with Dusan Vlahovic after he has proven Juventus' match winner against Cagliari.

The Serbia striker made 50 targeted involvement in 95 Serie A performances for Juve with a 12th minute winner in a 1-0 triumph in Sardegna Arena on Sunday.

It was the first Juve start of Vlahovic since January 29, but Juve -Baas Motta greeted the impact of the striker, who was thwarted on a few other occasions when Juve won a fourth straight competition win.

“He plays because he deserves it. We have an extraordinary relationship. He has a strong character and mentality,” he said Dazn.

“Today he showed great professionalism and helps his teammates. It is easy to manage a champion like him.”

However, Motta was not entirely in love with the end of Juve generally, with his side that resulted in a series of missed opportunities, especially in a dominant first half.

“We had so many chances in the first half, we went into the break, knowing that it would be a problem not to finish it and inevitably we suffered,” Motta added.

“We missed a little clarity in the second half, we suffered without giving up, but without dominating like in the first half. Cagliari took over the field and we cannot allow our opponents to do all of that.”

Juve was dumped from the Play-Off of Midweek from the play-off in the play-off round, but are now in the top four in the Serie A and eight points drift of leaders Inter.

Motta says that his side will simply take things one game at the same time if they try muscle on the title photo.

“We have to play the one game at the same time, especially now that we will enter the crunch period of the season,” Motta added.

“It is a very balanced competition and we have also seen the top teams struggling this weekend.”
