Motta: Koopmeiners suffered from expectations at Juventus

The Holland -Midfielder has not linked the success that he enjoyed with Atalanta since his summer arrival last year.

Motta, who was fired by Juve last week, said: “In my opinion, buy was immediately overloaded with too many expectations. The high costs of his purchase weighed up heavily. In these situations, expectations are increasing and have more effect on the player than you might think. But I am sure he can do better and better.

“He is a high -level player, he is a player who always played well for Atalanta and his national team last year. I am convinced that when he finds balance and expectations go to a normal level, he will return to his usual levels.

“He has to adapt to his role in the dressing room and on the field, but he will always improve because he is a very good player. He is also a good guy who works very hard and I am sure he will give this team a lot.”

Motta also commented on his management of Dusan Vlahovic.

He told Il Corriere della Sera: “Dusan played a lot, some say too much, but he earned it because he always worked well.

“Sometimes he couldn't play because he had injuries that kept him outside for ten days. He is a smart guy, able to discuss and share opinions.

“The relationship with him was good, but at the same time it is normal to feel struck, depending on whether you are on the field or not. Dusan was not happy when he did not play, but he always had respect for my decisions. He continued to work hard and when he came to the field, he tried to help the team.”
