Thiago Motta urged Randal Kolo Muani to keep his feet on the ground while his pleasant start of life at Juventus continued in their victory over Como.
Kolo Muani, who came on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season, scored twice to earn a 2-1 victory in the Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadio on Friday.
The Frenchman has now scored five goals in three Series A performances and became the first player to become five or more times in his first three outings in the three points per win in the Italian Top flight (from 1994-95).
Kolo Muani also scored more than one goal in the same road game for only the second time in his career in playing in the top five European competitions and last scored a brace away from home against Dijon in Ligue 1 in May 2021.
Against Como, Kolo Muani registered a team -high expected goals (XG) a total of 0.88, while he also shot more shots on the objective (two) than anyone else in front of the Motta side.
“He is in good shape, he scores goals, but he is sure he can do better,” Motta told Sky Sports.
“He must keep his feet on the floor and continue to work. There are other things, apart from goals that an attacker has to do.
“He helps, just like everyone else, everyone had his moment and their characteristics. The team will get better and better.”
Kolo Muani had been out of favor at PSG and only started two of his 10 performances under Luis Enrique in Ligue 1 during the 2024-25 campaign.
The 26-year-old opened the season with two goals in three games, but then just played from top actions just before just before he made the switch to Turin.
Kolo Muani now enjoys this new life in Italy and could not have hoped for a better start.
“It's a dream for me. I am very happy to be here and with this start I am very happy to be with Juventus,” said Kolo Muani.
“For me it is really important to always play to win. We are very happy that we have passed Como tonight. Now we are going to the next one.”
Friday's victory lifted Juventus above Lazio and Fiorentina and to fourth place in the classification of the Serie A, but they might be lucky to overcome como.
The side of Cesc Fabregas dominated the first half and registered an XG of 0.67 of their nine shots, while he also limits Juventus to just three efforts in the purpose of Jean Butez.
The equalizer of Assane Diao in the first half of the stop time was the least como that earned for their display, but Motta was happy with how his side found a way to win after the interval.
“Playing against Como today is not easy, and it was not for someone. They play good football and have made an effort,” said Motta.
“We were careful and played the game we had to play to win. I am happy, especially for the boys who deserved it.”
