Jose Mourinho could be set for a severe punishment after pinching the nose of Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk after a chaotic Istanbul derby on Wednesday.
The Fenerbahce of Mourinho was beaten from the Turkish cup by their bitter rivals after they had slipped to a 2-1 defeat, but the game was overshadowed by Mourinho who confronted Buruk on the field after the last whistle.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager saw the nose of Buruk squeezing, where his opposite number subsequently fell on the floor that held his face.
The incident led to a massive fight, with three players – Fenerbahce's Mert Yandas and Galatasaray's Kerem Demirbay and Baris Yilmaz – sent.
Mourinho now has to wait to see if he will be punished for his behavior, and official regulations suggest that he is standing in line for a long -term ban.
According to the disciplinary regulations of football, Mourinho will probably receive a 1-3 match ban when the Neuspinching action is considered 'unsporting behavior'.
However, if Mourinho's behavior is seen as 'Assault', the football disciplinary board recommends a 5-10 game ban or a suspension of 45-90 days.
Fenerbahce has nine league games left, which means that Mourinho could miss the rest of the season if he gets a more important fine.
This would be a big blow to Fenerbahce, who is currently trying to chase League Leaders Galatasaray.
Galatasaray has a six -point lead at the top of the table, but has played more a game than Mourinho's Men.
The rivalry between the two teams has only been raised in recent months and Mourinho is in the middle of all this.
The 62-year-old Portuguese manager brought a lawsuit against Galatasaray in February after the club accused him of making racist statements.
Mourinho, after a 0-0 draw in the Istanbul Derby, said that the Galatasaray bank 'jumped as monkeys' when he appealed to referee decisions to go to their favor.
Mourinho was then supported by several black players he had previously managed, including ex-Chelsea stars Didier Drogba and Michael Essien, and he defended himself in an interview with Sky Sports while he insisted that Galatasaray had twisted his words.
The Bad Blood only became intensifying after Wednesday's cup match when Galatasaray posted a mocking video on social media of a cartoon version of Mourinho who complain and cry about losing them before he wakes up in a psychiatric department.
