Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that he can relate to Ruben Amorim's situation in the club and thinks that supporting him is the right call.
United finished 15th in the Premier League, their lowest position ever, and lost the Europa League final of Tottenham, the qualification of Champions League failed.
In general, United suffered 20 defeats in all competitions this season, their most in one campaign since 22 in 1973-74 lost.
Mourinho was the last manager who led the Red Devils to a European title and won the Europa League in 2017 and defeated Ajax in the final.
The Portuguese coach, currently at Fenerbahce, said he was going through a similar phase while he won the Treble in his first full season in Porto before won the Primeira Liga and Champions League in his second campaign.
“I have read some quotes from him [Amorim] Saying that he is happy that he was coming and already had these six months, “Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“When I went to Porto, the same thing happened to me. I went in January, I had a difficult six months.
“We even struggled to qualify for UEFA Cup [Europa League] And then it happened, what happened.
“It's our duty to be here.”

“From what I read, the impact [of losing Europa League final] At Man United it is of course enormous in the sense of how many years of MAN UTD is not involved in European competition.
“But at the same time it seems that they support Ruben. They give him time and conditions to continue.”
