Jose Mourinho has offered his support to Manchester United Baas Ruben Amorim and opened the relationship with Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Amorim, 40, has undergone a difficult start of life at Old Trafford and has lost eight of his first 16 Premier League matches since he arrived at the Sporting Lisbon in November.
This included United defeats in five of their last six Premier League matches to let the club get away in the top flight in 14th place and 14 points from the top four.
Amorim is married to his favorite 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford, but he still has to play a positive impact on United Stamping and the Season of the Red Devils on the Europa League after they have deposited from the FA Cup to Fulham last weekend.
But despite his struggles, legendary Portuguese coach Mourinho, who managed United from 2016 to 2018 – winning the Carabao Cup, Europa League and Community Shield in the process – offered his support to Amorim.
“He is a good child,” said 62-year-old Sky Sports. 'Always very respectful for me. We had a good relationship for a few years. He knows I wish him the best. '
Over the years, Mourinho has somewhat detected a mentor for Amorim, with the current United boss visiting the club for a one-week internship when the 62-year-old in 2018 was a manager.
Given his tender age, early impact as a young coach in Europe and background in Portugal, there is no surprising a comparison between the two coaches.
In the meantime, Mourinho also revealed that he has a 'good relationship' with unpopular United Part-owner Ratcliffe.
Ratcliffe has been considerably examined since his arrival in February 2024, with various cost -saving measures that have been implemented at the club.
Mail Sport only revealed last month how Ratcliffe has been set up to make 200 staff agreement, which comes after the club cleared around 250 employees last year – and several other money -saving actions took place.
This included canceling free coach trips for the staff to the FA Cup final of last year, cutting back on ambassador salaries and increasing ticket prices, while the Brit also decided to put an end to the role of Sir Alex Ferguson £ 2 million a year at the club.
Mourinho, who admitted that he had not closely followed Ratcliffe's actions in the club, thought about his meetings with the British billionaire.
“To be honest, I don't know much about what is happening,” Mourinho added to the cuts.
“I know Sir Jim Ratcliffe. I am not saying that we are big friends, but we have a good relationship.
“I know him well. He invited me a few times to his house. I see him as a good person and a great businessman.
'Of course I feel for some people I know [losing their jobs]But hopefully it will go in the right direction. '
Elsewhere, Amorim had previously opened his relationship with Mourinho when he arrived in Old Trafford in November, in which he explained how the former United Baas had given him advice.
'He sent me a message and told me that this is a beautiful club, a big club, with beautiful people – and that is correct. It's still, “Amorim explained.
'But many things change and we are now in a different building, we are building a new one, and I am another man.
'I was learning at that time and I hope to learn something about my players here now.
“But the club is still big and is still the best club in England, and we want to win again, that's all.”
