Jose Mourinho has weighed the decision of Man United to support Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United closed the 2024-25 season with a 2-0 win against Aston Villa and finished a historically bad Premier League campaign in 15th place.
Despite their struggles – which means they also lose the Europa League final against Tottenham – United seems to hold on by Undervire Amorim.
Now the former United -Baas Mourinho has weighed the issue and apparently has supported the decision to support his countryman.
Mourinho said to Sky Sports: 'From what I read the impact [of losing Europa League final] At Man United it is of course enormous in the sense of how many years of MAN UTD is not involved in European competition.
'But at the same time it seems that they support Ruben. They give him time and conditions to continue. '
'I have read some quotes from him [Amorim] Say he is happy that he was coming all these six months, “
“When I went to Porto, the same thing happened to me,” he said. 'I went in January [2002]I had a difficult six months. We even struggled to qualify for the UEFA Cup and then it happened, what happened. '
Amorim is well aware of the research that he and his side have been among the past months and has tackled the problem for fans after their last competition match.
“I want to apologize for this season,” he told supporters in an address on a pitch.
'I know you are really disappointed about me and with the team.
“The second thing I want to say is to thank. We are very grateful for your support during the season, which I know it was really bad.
'It was really difficult in many games, but now we have to make a choice for me – holding it in the past – because this season is in the past, it's over.
'We fight each other or we stay together and move forward. Six months ago, in my first three games, with two wins and one draw, I told you that the storm is coming,
'Today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you that the good days are coming.
“If there is one club in the world who can overcome any situation, every disaster is our club, Manchester United.”
The pressure will be on Amorim from next season's opening match, but he is not worried that he is under the microscope.
