Two former Premier League stars refused to play for Jose Mourinho in the last match of Fenerbahce of the season on Saturday.
Fenerbahce stood opposite Konyaspor at home in their last league match and had achieved second place in the table after she had not set up Galatasaray in the title race.
But two of their senior players missed the game, and it has now emerged that they have not made themselves available to play.
Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic had to get memorialplaquettes after they had announced that they would leave the club this summer, but they decided that they did not want a ceremony in the stadium because of fears about fan -touch.
Fenerbahce supporters showed their anger towards their players after a match earlier this month, and there were worries that the same could happen on Saturday.
Instead, Dzeko and Tadic chose to say goodbye in the training ground kitchen.
The ceremony was attended by their teammates, club president Ali Koc and Vice-President Acun Ilicali.
Sports director Mario Branco and four coaches of the team of manager Mourinho also said goodbye to leaving the club this summer.
Galatasaray held their own farewell ceremony in their stadium for departing stars Fernando Muslera and dries Mertens on Saturday, which led to Fenerbahce fans who react angrily to the chance not to get their own farewell against Dzeko and Tadic.
Tadic then explained to explain why he and Dzeko did not come to the stadium for the last game. The statement was: 'It was a decision that we made with Dzeko not to play in the last game. We did not want to damage the image of Fenerbahce.
'The fans have always supported us. The way he said goodbye is no problem for me. I preferred that it was in the stadium, but the ambiance is currently not very good. That's why it's better to be like that. '
Fenerbahce defeated Konyaspor with 2-1 while they finished the season on 84 points, 11 on Galatasaray drift.
They end the campaign trophy, while they also say goodbye to Dzeko and Tadic.
Dzeko, who previously played 189 games for Manchester City, ends with 46 goals in 99 games for Fenerbahce.
Ex-Southampton Forward Tadic scored 29 goals in 109 performances for Fenerbahce.
Dzeko and Tadic fail to make a farewell appearance ends what a turbulent first season has been in Turkey for Mourinho.
The former boss of Chelsea and Manchester United was accused of making racist comments earlier this season after claiming that Galatasaray players 'jumped like monkeys' when he appealed to decisions to their advantage.
Mourinho denied the allegations and Fenerbahce launched a lawsuit against Galatasaray while jumping to the defense of their manager.
Mourinho was then hit with a ban from three games for pinching the nose of Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk after a spicy Istanbul derby in April.
Earlier this week, Mourinho lashed out to Turkish reporters after his team was beaten 4-2 by relegation Kansshebbers Hatayspor.
The Portuguese boss said: 'In the last seven years I have played in two European finals. So in the last seven years I have played more European finals than the history of Turkish football together. '
The 62-year-old is perhaps proud of his earlier achievements, but it has been a difficult first season for him in a new country, and now he has to prepare for life without Dzeko and Tadic after their abrupt departure.
