A group of Man United fans made their feelings for Marcus Rashford known during the EFL Cup tie in Tottenham on Thursday evening.
He was again left out of Ruben Amorim's squad and did not even travel to North London with his teammates.
The £375,000-a-week star announced on Monday he is ready for a 'new challenge' away from United after 20 years at the club, just a day after missing his side's dramatic derby win over City.
Reacting to Rashford's interview, some traveling United fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the 27-year-old at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
One banner read: 'Apologies ta ra Marcus', a nod to an infamous banner raised against Sir Alex Ferguson in his early years at United.
It wasn't all trophies and accolades for the Scot at Old Trafford in his early years. After being appointed to replace Ron Atkinson in November 1986, it took almost four years for Sir Alex to win his first silverware.
Some fans had had enough of the former St Mirren and Aberdeen boss and wanted him gone as early as December 1989 when United lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace.
However, a year later, Ferguson and United won the FA Cup after beating Crystal Palace in the final and began the trophy-filled years that followed.
United boss Ruben Amorim refused to close the door on Rashford's career at the club on Wednesday.
He insisted he wants to keep the winger going forward, but Mail Sport previously revealed the club would be willing to sanction a sale for a fee in the region of £40million.
“We are better with Marcus Rashford, that's simple, and we will try different things to get Marcus to the best level he has shown in the past,” Amorim said.
'This kind of club needs great talent and he is a great talent, so he just has to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.
'Nothing has changed. We believe in Marcus. Marcus is a Manchester United player so there is no change.”
