Manchester United will not give staff free tickets for the Europa League final in another cost-saving measure implemented by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.
The Red Devils are taking on Tottenham in the Europa League final on 21 May after a semi-final demolition track of Athletic Bilbao gave them a chance to save their season.
The final, which is organized in Bilbao's 53,000 seats San Mames Stadium, has assigned both clubs around 15,000 seats by UEFA.
It has been reported that traces all full -time employees offer a free ticket for the competition – a position that United does not follow.
The e -mail claims that man Utd holds a vote instead with a small number of tickets available to their staff, but will see the majority of employees without the possibility of viewing the club in Spain.
It has been reported that United will set up a screening in Manchester instead for the rest of the staff, with plus-ons also invited.
Employees receive two free drinks during the event, but plus-ons are expected to pay for theirs, it is said.
It is understood that Man Utd feels that they will put the fans first when it comes to access to tickets for the final, given the big demand of supporters for tickets to a grand finale.
There are currently around 50,000 seasonal card holders at Old Trafford, which means that the demand for definitive tickets is much greater than that of the allocation of 15,000.
Sunsport has approached Manchester United for comment.
It is thought that United currently has around 900 people, marginal more than the 700 employees who have offered free tickets by Tottenham.
Man UTD paid for flights, accommodation and food for staff in the last three Champions League finals in which the club appeared – the change in the process since the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe further.
Ratcliffe, 72, saves costs in the Theater of Dreams since his minority takeover was announced in December 2023.
The billionaire Brit and his Ineos company have implemented cost-saving measures that have seen nearly 500 dismissals at the Premier League Giants.
Other more marginal financial savings have been made by deleting free meals for Old Trafford staff, canceling the Christmas party of the staff and stop access to private drivers and business credit cards.
Ratcliffe also played a role in the decision to take the legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson from the club enthusiast, from his ambassador position at the club that he has managed for 26 years.
It is also not the first time that Ineos has made a big decision with regard to the final, last season they made the staff and the players' families pay for their own transport to the FA Cup final.
Despite the massive cost savings, United announced in March of plans to build a brand new £ 2 billion 100,000 seats in the near future.
All this coincided with the worst season ever on the field of United on the field, with manager Ruben Amorim has now handed a lifeline to save the club's season with a European trophy and place in the Champions League while in the 15th way in the Prem Table.
