Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee are attracting interest from Serie A clubs.
According to Sky in Italy, AC Milan are discussing internally whether to make a move for Rashford, and could make an approach to discuss the idea further this week. Milan would only be able to provide a loan and United would have to pay a large part of his wages.
His salary is a major obstacle for Milan to take out a loan. They are among a number of clubs considering a move for the England forward.
United have not yet received an official offer for Rashford. United head coach Ruben Amorim has said it is up to Rashford to force his way back into the first-team reckoning.
All options apparently remain open. Ideally for United, Rashford gets back on track and performs well for the team, which would likely increase his value if the club decide to sell him in the summer.
While a loan – and paying part wages – is not ideal, United can also point to the benefit such a move had on Jadon Sancho's value last season.
Juventus is interested in Zirkzee
Juventus are interested in signing Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee.
Juve wants to go on loan and is managed by Thiago Motta, under whom Zirkzee played at Bologna.
It is unlikely that United would consider a loan; Zirkzee has played in every matchday squad under Amorim and the head coach says he wants to keep him.
“I want to keep Josh because he gives everything,” Amorim said. “He tries it in training, but we don't know, the window is open.
“We'll see what happens. We just have to concentrate on training and take this into the next match. So it's only one point. Let's concentrate on the performance and take it into the next match.”
Sky Sports News also understands that Zirkzee is keen to stay and establish himself in the United team.
Bruno Fernandes, meanwhile, said United players believe in Zirkzee during a challenging period for the 23-year-old. The striker was jeered by some United fans in the first half against Newcastle last month.
Zirkzee received applause from the United fans when he came on against Liverpool on Sunday, with the striker creating a last-minute chance for Harry Maguire, who stormed over.
“I was in the stands [against Newcastle] I have never seen anything like this and it frustrates and irritates me a lot because he is a player who always gives everything,” said Fernandes.
“As a player who comes into the team from another league, he needs time to adapt, but he has enormous qualities.
“He hasn't shown all the quality, but it can't be that from the first game of the season everyone hyped him as one of the best strikers and now everyone doesn't believe in him anymore.
“We believe in him in the dressing room. I would rather be myself in this position against Newcastle and not see one of my teammates in that position.”
Who could stay and who could go?
Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that United will listen to offers for Rashford, along with a number of other first-team players.
Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton were all out of contract this summer. This month's offers will be considered, otherwise they will remain and be part of the selection.
Casemiro could also leave, provided a good offer comes in and Saudi clubs show interest again.
United have activated the one-year option on Harry Maguire's contract, while a new deal for Amad Diallo is close.
