MU transfer news: Rashford told next club as Sir Jim Ratcliffe forced into sale

Manchester United didn't need the January transfer window more than they need it now.

The Red Devils have had a terrible first half of the season and sit thirteenth in the Premier League. They could certainly use one or two signings to get them back on track under new boss Ruben Amorim.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has shown he is not afraid to dig deep to add new signings. United spent around £180 million on five new faces this summer, so something similar could happen this time.

Some current Red Devils stars could potentially leave Old Trafford in January. Check out all the latest rumors and deals below:

Marcus Rashford has been told by Danny Murphy that he would be a better fit for Arsenal than Manchester United. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “If I play in a team that is so stable, confident and skilled, it is conceivable that its end product would be much better because Arsenal are really dominant in games. There would be people who would accept.” Rashford past [Gabriel] Martinelli.”

“The capabilities he has and the physical attributes he has make him capable of more,” Murphy added. “But he was at a club where the managers and the management team were not stable, the team was not great.”

Reports suggest the Red Devils are said to be 'open' to offers for Rashford in January. He is under contract until 2028.

Although United will make offers for Rashford in January, it appears Rashford may not be the only one sold. Mail Online suggests club chiefs are aware that sales need to take place to enable United to comply with the Premier League's PSR spending rules.

It is further suggested that a maximum of nine stars are untouchable. Homegrown players could very well be pushed forward because of their winning potential.

Alejandro Garnacho could be among the victims. Meanwhile, injury-prone stars including Luke Shaw and Mason Mount could be brutally told to leave.

Antoine Griezmann's agent has revealed that the Frenchman has rejected a move to United in the past. Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb he said: “He is already 33, I don't think so.

“There has been interest in it in the past. Never a concrete offer, but the teams are the well-known ones… But he has not yet had an offer like from Manchester United: there he refused and said no, but he has never opened up about saying goodbye to La Liga. If he wants to play a different style of football in the future, we'll see, but I'm not saying he won't.”

Man United were linked with an £85 million move for Griezmann in 2017. He eventually moved to Barcelona but is now back at Atletico Madrid.
