The interest of Manchester United in Club Brugge star Ardon Jashari seems to have been stated with the Belgian side that is determined to keep the midfielder at their disposal
Manchester United has been told that Transfer target Ardon Jashari is not available for a move this summer, regardless of the money in question. Club Brugge is said to have left their midfielder 'disappointed' that a movement will not be considered despite the interest of several clubs.
The Red Devils would have competition for the signature of the 22-year-old from the Serie A Giants AC Milan. The Italian side was claimed that he had submitted a bid of € 30 million (£ 25.6 million) for the player who was named the Jupiler Pro League's 2024/25 player of the season.
Bob Madou and sports director Devy Rigaux van Brugge confirmed that they met Milan to discuss the player, but rejected the idea that conversations about the money needed for a deal took place.
Instead, the duo confirmed that they were planning to stay in the club. Speaking with Het Laatste Nieuws, they said the player had been informed that that decision.
Madou said: “Has the case been tackled? We met AC Milan. Out of politeness. And without mentioning money.
“Three hours without talking about money was long in this case. No, serious – that is the elephant in the room. The elephant in the room. Everyone knows what Ardon has achieved, but we don't see this as the end of a cycle for him.
“I am not saying that we will not make any exceptions, but today there is no amount on the table that I think would justify. You are not alone from Clubbrugge. We assume that he will stay.”
Rigaux added: “This is part of the summer transfer window. And it is not the first time I have experienced it. [Jose] For example, Izquierdo wanted to leave at some point.
“You have to ensure that players understand why you deny them something. Is that clear? No. Can't make something like that back?
Bruges anticipates a future step to a large club and understand the disappointment of Jashari. The leaders from the Belgian side clarified that there had never been any promise of transfer for the midfielder.
“I understand that he is disappointed, but it must be correct,” said CEO Madou. “I am convinced that he will make a switch to an absolute top club, but today it doesn't feel right.”
Sports director Rigaux added: “That he was promised a transfer in exchange for a record compensation? We never promise anyone a transfer.
“If there is a point where a player has reached the end of a cycle, and a top club makes a sufficient offer that confirms or exceeds the value of the player at that time, it will happen.”
