Manchester United is strongly connected to a movement for Victor Osimhen, but Juventus has now come to the negotiating table while watching the Napoli striker
Juventus has entered the race to sign Victor Osimhen, who has attracted enormous interest with Manchester United this summer, also the Nigerian. His time in Napoli seems to be up and the old lady wants to keep him in Italy.
They have resumed conversations with their arch rivals, who have just claimed the Serie A title, but have supported Romelu Lukaku as their most important man in attack. Osimhen on loan last season with Galatasaray, where he remained productive.
A number of frontmen have been tipped to be on the move this summer and Gazzetta claims that Osimhen remains the primary target of Juventus with attack, so that club representatives have resumed conversations with the agents of the striker in recent days.
Osimhen has a release clause of € 75 million (£ 64 million), but that is only valid for clubs outside of Series A, which means that the Bianconeri has to negotiate a transfer costs with Napoli, which could be a challenge.
Viktor Gyokeres, another man who is also connected to a move to Manchester, is expected to leave Sporting Lisbon, but Juventus has Osimhen for the Swedish striker on their own shortlist.
The Nigerian has already rejected a mammoth offer from Al-Hilal that his desire to stay in Europe underlines. Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Osimhen “has to wait” at the Premier League giants to come and call.
He said at Rio Ferdinand presents: “No. 9, they know who I want. The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would get: Osimhen! It seems that he has already rejected Hilal … He has to wait for Man United. I don't know if Man United is coming. That's the problem.”
Osimhen has only left for a year at his deal in Naples who will put pressure on his club to sell as the summer continues. He was previously associated with a move to Chelsea, but that never came last summer.
United has already landed Matheus Cunha this summer, but remains looking for a number 9 that Liam Delap missed. Their lack of European football could hinder them in some negotiations, but they retain an interest in people like Bryan Mbeumo and Gyokees.
