Musiala says ‘there’s no one to blame’ for serious injury following surgery

Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala said that no one was the fault of the horrible leg fracture he suffered in their club World Cup quarterfinals against Paris St. Germain, and added on Wednesday that “such situations happen”.

The 22-year-old ceased a Fibula fracture with a broken and only disrupted after a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the end of the first half.

The Germany International, which was picked up on a stretcher, flew back from Atlanta to Munich where he was operated on and is expected to be put outside for a few months and miss the start of the new season.

“The operation went really well, I am in good care and I wanted to say that there is no one to blame,” said Musiala in an Instagram post.

“I think this kind of situations happen and now I'm just going to use the next period to rebuild my strength and positivity.”

Donnarumma visibly looked shocked after the injury and said after the game that his “prayers and wishes” were at Musiala.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany was very upset about the incident and said shortly after the 2-0 defeat that he was “rarely so angry”.

Musiala closed the season with 21 goals and eight assists in all competitions when Bayern won the Bundesliga title.
