‘My bond is eternal’ – Ancelotti says he will not coach another club after Real

Carlo Ancelotti says that he does not want to coach another club in the future while he is preparing to leave Real Madrid to coach the Brazilian national team.

Earlier this month, the Selecao confirmed that Ancelotti would take over after the end of the LaLiga season, and the Italian will take the lead on his last game at home against Real Sociedad on Saturday.

He leaves Madrid and has won 15 trophies with the club about his two spells, making him their most successful coach in terms of silverware.

Ancelotti became the first coach to win titles in each of Europe's top five competitions, after the success of Madrid in 2021-22.

He also has the LaLiga record for the most successive matches without defeat, that is 42 games between September 2023 and October 2024 (W31 D11).

“These are things I don't know,” Ancelotti told reporters when asked if he would like to return to Madrid after his term of office ended.

“I don't feel like coaching another club, or I didn't do that, after Madrid. That is what I said and I have kept it. In the future … I don't know. But the most immediate is to do well with Brazil.

“I am very excited not to betray Madrid with another club and to go to the national team with most history, the five -fold champions. It is a big challenge, but I love to prepare for a World Cup with Brazil.”

In a message on Instagram, Ancelotti said goodbye to Madrid.

“We're going to get divorced ways again. Again, I take every moment in my heart in this beautiful second phase as a coach of Real Madrid,” he said.

“It has been unforgettable years, an incredible journey full of emotions, titles and especially the pride of representing this shield.

“Thanks to President Florentino Perez, to the club, to my players, to my staff and especially to this unique fan who has always made me feel as one of them. What we have achieved together will forever remain in the memory of Madridism, not only for the triumphs, but for the way we have already achieved them.

“Now a new adventure starts, but my band with Real Madrid is forever.”

Ancelotti, whose current deal would expire in June 2026, won the Champions League three times in Madrid. He is the coach with the most Champions League titles in the history of the competition (five) and is also the only coach who participated in six Champions League finals.

However, Madrid will end this season without a trophy, after he has missed the Liga title in Barcelona, who also defeated Los Blancos in the final of Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana.

Media reports have former Madrid -Midfielder Xabi Alonso linked as his replacement, with the Spaniard leaving the German club Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.

Reportedly, Madrid Alonso wants to be in place before the Club World Cup, which starts on June 15, although they have not yet confirmed it as a replacement for Ancelotti.

And when asked, Ancelotti said he had no advice for his former player.

“Everyone has their own methodology, but lets him enjoy Madrid. Xabi Alonso will be the first, and I wish him all the happiness in the world,” said Ancelotti.

“He has the quality to coach Madrid. Let him enjoy it.”

Second placed Madrid-Gastheer 11th placed Real Sociedad on Saturday in their last game of the season, who will also mark the last match of Luka Modric in the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 39-year-old, who is the most decorated player of the club and the Ballon d'Or winner of 2018, leaves Madrid after the club World Cup.

“I quickly become emotional. It will be an emotional day. When I start to cry, there is no problem,” Ancelotti said.

“It will be nice and I share it with Modric … who has been spectacular support in this phase in Madrid. Someone fantastic, a legend. To say goodbye with him will be nice.”
