Myles Lewis-Skelly is SENT OFF for second time in a month as things go from bad-to-worse for Arsenal against West Ham

MyLes Lewis-Skelly saw Red for the second time in a month for Arsenal for Arsenal after he was sent by West Ham on Saturday afternoon in their 1-0 defeat.

The 18-year-old was accused of refusing a potential target score opportunity when he polluted Mohammed Kudus in the half line.

The West Ham-wing player has earned Lewis-Skelly and had a clear path to goal for him, with David Raya far from his line.

Lewis-Skelly made a reckless failure and initially received a yellow card for his violation.

But after a short VAR assessment, the teenager was sent for the second time in the last four Premier League matches of Arsenal.

It made the task of the Gunners to go into the game a lot harder because they were looking for an equalizer after Jarrod Bowen had opened the score for the visitors for the break.

The Premier League published an official statement about X and explained the decision to extend the sentence from a yellow to a red card.

It stated: 'VAR checked the conversation of the yellow card from the referee to Lewis-Skelly for a challenge about Kudus-it considering a targeted goalkeeper because of the position of the goalkeeper and there is no coverage of defender, so ordered one on the field of assessment. The referee then upgraded the yellow to a red card. '

Last month, on January 25, Lewis-Skelly was also rejected against Wolves.

The graduate Hale End received a straight red card from referee Oliver in the first half of Arsenal's 1-0 win over wolves for the pollution of Matt Doherty in his own half.

A few days later, however, the FA decided to annul the decision on further investigation.
