Mystery over football fans missing £14k Rolex after it was lost during CPR

A WEST Ham fan has made an urgent plea for the missing £14,000 Rolex worn by his father before he was given CPR.

On Monday evening, Jay Gray watched the Wolverhampton Wanderers match in Stratford, London, with his father who suddenly collapsed and died.

Jamie 'Jay' Gray 'desperately' pleaded on social media for the watch's safe return and wrote a detailed account from memory.

His message on was lost when it was moved and we really want it back.”

The caption was shared with a smiling father-son selfie taken in front of a football field.

“Reward to anyone who has any information resulting in the return of this watch. My dad wore this every day and it means so much to our family to get it back,” the post continued.

Jay continued: “Can anyone involved with West Ham, and also anyone who would like to help return this sentimental piece of jewelry back to our family at this difficult time, please.”

So far the post has been viewed by 35 million people, with an England football manager and former player helping to make the appeal.

Martin Allen played over 100 games as a midfielder for both Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United.

He wrote: “Horrible news about the West Ham fan who died during our home match at the London Stadium last week.

“His family has appealed to all of us to help find his missing watch. Please, someone give it back.”

A friend close to the family took to Facebook to share her condolences and spread the message.

Louise Anne said: “PLEASE SHARE…

“Kev and his family are very close to my family, Kev sadly passed away on Monday evening.

“His wife Lou and his children Taela and Jamie just want the watch back, no one cares who has it or why – they just want it back, Kev wore it every day.”

A London Stadium spokesperson said: “We would like to express our condolences to the family. We are assisting the football club by investigating the camera footage from Monday evening.”

It is believed that more than 60,000 fans attended the match, with the home fans celebrating a 2–1 defeat.

The Premier League match took place at the London Stadium in Stratford.

The Sun has contacted West Ham United FC, the London Ambulance Service and Jay Gray for comment.
