Nainggolan: Hurts to see Roma struggling

The former Roma midfielder was speaking ahead of tonight's derby against Lazio.

Nainggolan told Retesport: “It hurts. My best years were in Rome, where we were always high in the rankings. Since I left, the Giallorossi team has not played in the Champions League.

“I think Roma is improving, but it is still far away: there are many points to recover and it is not easy. It is strange to see three coaches who think differently: for example, (Leandro) Paredes did not play before and Now he does, (Edoardo) Bove was launched by (Jose) Mourinho and then sold, given what he did in Florence I would never have sent him away.”

On Daniele de Rossi's dismissal, he also said: “It surprised me: it is proof of the club's incompetence. The club gave a three-year contract to a coach who had outperformed Mourinho that season by collecting many points, and the following year he was fired after four games. In short, it is inexplicable.”
