The Parthenopans became the first team in the history of a series A of 20 teams to win the Scudetto after the tenth of the previous season.
They overshadowed a performance of the Juventus of Antonio Conte, who won the title in 2011–12 after the seventh earlier ending the year before.
The ruling Italian champions with 57 goals have also become the team with the least goals scored by a champion in the history of a 20-team Serie A.
The previous record was held by AC Milan, who scored 65 goals during their title -winning season 2010–11.
