Giovanni di Lorenzo and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa scored the goals for Napoli.
“There have definitely been changes since we started in the summer, especially as I'm still trying to find the right tactics to suit this team. “Remember, a few days before the deadline we were missing three key players and we were formed around a 3-4-2-1 because that suited those players best,” Conte told DAZN.
“The arrival of Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku in particular made a big difference for the switch to 4-3-3. Even then, for a few games it was a bit of a 4-2-2-2, with Scott pushing close to Romelu.
“We tried a number of different outfits before arriving at this solution. We work hard, I see the way the team trains and these situations are getting better and better. That is satisfying for a coach and for the players, because we are growing, there is more self-confidence and what makes me happiest is that the whole team is involved.
“Even when he was missing key players, such as Lobotka who was out for five games, Buongiorno was injured, but Gilmour and Juan Jesus proved more than reliable. Spinazzola also had a somewhat difficult start, but now he is really part of the team.
“It's important to get these reactions when players are called up. I train 22 players, they all have to know what to do in every situation.”
