Nate Diaz accused of ‘running scared’ after his manager was sent a contract for the ex-UFC star’s return fight

One of the former UFC opponents of Nate Diaz is waiting for a response after taking a rematch offer.

Diaz, undoubtedly one of the top stars who participated in the UFC, appeared his last Octagon appearance in 2022. After Khamzat Chimaev's Weightmiss had canceled their main event Matchup, the Stockton Star fought instead of his contract in a Late-notice struggle with Tony Ferguson.

The fourth round Guillotine choke marked a fitting farewell to the Fan's favorite, who has since shared the boxing ring with Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal, lost to the first but beating the latter.

But now Diaz apparently has set his sights on a UFC Comback. He has focused on the symbolic BMF title and twice claims that the current champion Max Holloway has 'his belt' in recent weeks.

However, the fighting offer on the table is away from the leading promotion of MMA.

Josh Thomson claims that he is in conversation with the agent of Nate Diaz for Rematch outside UFC

The most vocal when it comes to fighting the ex-PUC star is Josh Thomson, a former Strikeforce champion that is the only man who beats Diaz.

Thomson proclaimed Diaz earlier this year and threw a rematch in boxing or the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Although the Stockton star still has to make the callout public, it seems that there are going on behind the scenes.

But according to 'The Punk', while contracts were sent to Diaz's team, the manager of the 40-year-old cannot really get hold of him to discuss the offer.

“Nate, your manager has the contracts. He is still waiting for you to sit down and talk to him. He doesn't seem to detect you,” said Thomson. 'You are a bit scared.

“We have sent you a number of ideas and it seems that you keep trying to avoid the situation. So in terms of fighting, we will find out, man.

“I have nothing against Nate … I think he is great for this industry,” Thomson continued. “I would like this thing to be arranged.

“There are spoken and conversations with his agent, my agent, things like that. So we'll see.”

BKFC -Baas gave Nate Diaz signed after the call of Josh Thomson

When it comes to Thomson's wish to combat Diaz, it seems that at least one promotion would be willing to organize it.

David Feldman of BKFC discussed the signing of Diaz while spoke with Bloody Elbow and other reporters during a press conference in June.

“I spoke with Nate a number of times,” Feldman said about the possibility that Diaz is fighting Thomson in BKFC.

The founder of BKFC, however, pointed to one problem that the Stockton star would almost certainly come across in his promotion.

“Nate Diaz is a warrior, but he is cut a lot,” said Feldman. “And that is his fear of bald knuckle, which is cut too much.”

The cut problem rose his head in Diaz's BMF title against Masvidal in 2019, with a serious cut on the face of the Californians resulting in a doctor's stop after round three.

With that in mind, it is still to be seen whether the future of Diaz lies in the emerging bare boxing organization and a rematch with Thomson could wait him.
