Nate Diaz reveals he was set to play Conor McGregor’s role in ‘Road House’ but turned it down for a bizarre reason

Although he would probably choose to fight forever if he could, it seems that the career of Nate Diaz ends in combat sports.

Diaz competed for the last time in the Octagon on UFC 279, where a chaotic fight week led to the fact that Dana White called the press conference out of the way.

He then went Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal, with a former opponent of his recently revealing that there was conversations in a rematch opposite him, but the game never came out.

In the meantime, the Fan's favorite kept himself busy in other ways, although his appearance as a guest coach on 'Alf Reality' was short -lived after Diaz and his team had entered a fight.

The 40-year-old recently revealed that everything came into place for him to make his debut on the big screen, but he withdrew to the project for one specific reason in 'Road House' before Conor McGregor was confirmed to the project.

Nate Diaz rejected the role of Conor McGregor in 'Road House' because he did not want to lose a fight at Jake Gyllenhaal

In a performance on the HJR -Podcast next to Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, Nate Diaz revealed that he was talking to Star in Doug Liman's reboot of 'Road House'.

He eventually rejected the role with his former rival, Conor McGregor, who took the role in his place.

Diaz was drawn up to play the most important antagonist, 'Knox', who hits various fights with the protagonist, 'Elwood Dalton'.

'Dalton', a crashed former UFC hunter in the version of Liman, was depicted in the film by Jake Gyllenhaal, who started a huge press tour with McGregor prior to the release of the film.

Diaz stated during the podcast that he was familiar with the original film from 1989, he knew that playing the villain would mean that he should lose a fight.

After he learned who would play the role of 'Dalton', he refused the part because of a specific film in the filmography of Gyllenhaal that he is especially famous for.

“I was supposed to do Conor McGregor's role in 'Road House'. That was my part, but I thought: 'I am not fighting, I am not going in and losing a fight'. I have seen the original 'Weghuis'. I am so of:' So I am the most important bad guy, I have to fight. And they said it was Jake Gyllenhaal and I am something like: 'I'm not going into a movie and losing no' Brokeback Mountain '.

“I am something like that:” I can't see it, I can't do it. I don't lose anyone in no fight. “

'Road House' turned out to be a big hit for Amazon despite the controversy of release

'Road House' released in March last year on Prime Video, compiled by Amazon MGM Studios.

Amazon further reported that after the first two weeks of the film it was broken on the streaming platform, the records had broken for an original film produced for Prime Video by touching more than 50 million viewers.

Despite the success of 'Road House' on Prime Video, director Doug Liman was not happy with the way the studio chose to roll out the project.

Liman claimed that, despite his confidence in the project, he would boycott the display of the film at the SXSW film festival after the studio did not release the film in theaters.
