Nations League descends into chaos as objects are thrown and fanns invade pitch

This is the moment when a play-off draw from Nations League fell full-time in chaos.

Georgia defeated Armenia 6-1 on Sunday evening, but the game was marred by heated post-match scenes that threw objects and supporters flowed on the field.

After the last whistle and videos on social media, tensions showed hundreds of gamblers who jumped over chairs and hindered the barriers around the field.

Other unsavory clips showed spectators who swing rockets to parts of the crowd.

The Armenian journalist Robert Ananyan claimed that Georgian supporters were responsible for throwing objects at their rivals after the defeat in Tbilisi.

Police and stewards were forced to step in to make the situation harmless.

The reasons behind the surprise fracas are unknown. Indeed, the two nations have announced their shared bid to host the U-20 World Cup 2029 last week.

However, supporters initially seemed to violate the field to ask players shirts and to take photos with them, including Georgian Ace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

It is still to be seen whether one of the sides is being punished by UEFA, but a potential scenario could see that Georgia would hand over a stadium ban for their role in the incident.

They are then confronted with Turkey and Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying competitions in September.

Kvaratskhelia, who became a member of Ligue 1 Giants PSG from Napoli in a January relocation with a large money, yielded the sixth goal of his country against Armenia.

Georges Mikautadze, Giorgi Chakvetadz and Otar Kiteishvilli were also on the score sheet and took an emphatic 9-1 aggregated victory.

The result also meant that Georgia will remain in League B of the Nations League next season, while, despite the second, Armenia ended in League C.
