Neto fights back tears as he pays tribute to friend Diogo Jota at CWC

Chelsea and Palmeiras saw a period of silence in honor of Diogo Jota for the kick-off in the FIFA Club World Cup Quarter final on Friday evening in Philadelphia.

The match took place about 48 hours after Liverpool -star Jota and his brother Andre Silva died in a car accident in North Spain.

Pedro Neto had been a teammate of Jota with Portugal at international level and the couple was formed a close friendship over the years.

Neto kept a Chelsea shirt pushed up with the names of Diogo and Andre while both sets players were around the center circle prior to Friday's game.

Former Wolves Ace Neto was mentioned in Chelsea's Start XI after manager Enzo Maresca told reporters earlier in the day that the winger would get the choice or he wanted to play after the devastating news of his friend's death.

Neto visibly looked emotional and seemed to fight tears back at the time of silence.
