Neville says Man United undeserving of trophy parade if they win Europa League

Gary Neville has said that Manchester United does not earn a parade if they win the Europa League on Wednesday.

Ruben Amorim's Side Face Face Fellow Premier League roarers Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, because they offer to win the first European trophy from United, because they stopped the same cup in 2017.

Victory would also see that United qualifies for next season's Champions League despite a terrible domestic season.

An open-top bus parade through a city after winning a large football trophy is now the standard procedure for successful English football clubs, in which Delirious Fans end up along the streets.

But former defender of United and England, Neville, said to the stick to the football podcast, said: “If Manchester United wins, they will celebrate a trophy, but there will be a cautious celebration tomorrow (Thursday) – not by the fans, because they will clearly go crazy.

“Their interviews will be in the style that they are so happy and happy for the fans, but it was a difficult season.

“That will be the tone. I don't think there should be a parade through the city for those who win the Europa League.”

United is currently 16th in the Premier League table, only two places above the relegation zone, with Spurs 17th, and are on course for their lowest finish in the top flight since 1974, when they were banned from the old first division.

So far, Amorim's team has won only 10 of their 37 games and lost 18, without victories in their last eight league games.

However, the Europa League has been another matter, with their remarkable 7-6 total victory in the quarterfinals on Lyon, followed by a dominant victory over Athletic Bilbao to book a return to the Spanish city.
