New footage emerges that appears to show Julian Alvarez ‘double-touch’ penalty

It would not be a Madrid derby, especially in Europe, without controversy. It was stored for the sixth kick from the game, but it could hardly have been heated anymore. Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez, their radiant light over the two legs, seemed to have done the company from the penalty spot in the shootout, but referee Szymon Marciniak excluded the goal after an intervention of the VAR.

It was considered that Alvarez had touched the ball twice when he had taken his place, with his left foot that made contact before his right side, so that the penalty did not successfully reign. For some time it was not immediately clear why for most, and certainly in the stadium, the Metropolitano was not aware of the events.

Manager Diego Simeone protested that he had not seen the double touch after the game, while Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said he could repeat it. It was a topic of hot debate, while fans all over the world looked at repetitions looking for what the VAR had seen.

Now, however, the images of the inverted corner of the penalty were slightly displayed the ball lift somewhat of the turf before Alvarez has an impact.

Yet it is not everyone satisfied. Some say that Alvarez's foot has moved the turf instead of the ball, so that it jumped a little, while other fans of Atletico Madrid have wondered whether the images meet the criteria for a 'clear and obvious' error.

For Real Madrid they feel justified-Thibaut Courtois notes that he not only saw it in real time, but also the complaints of Atletico were sick about it. Anyway, it was certainly a cruel end for Alvarez after its excellent versions, and continues Atletico's series of painful losses for their city rivals in Europe.
