Caleb Porter and his New England Revolution side prepare for a “other” challenge when they travel to New York City FC in the MLS Road Trip on Saturday.
The revs go to the Yankee Stadium, the home of the MLB team of the New York Yankees, which plays in the outer field of a baseball diamond.
A unique challenge can offer Porter Welcome, with his side without winning in their first three MLS matches and the only team that still scores a goal.
“It's different,” said Porter about the visit to the Yankees house. “Every game is a bit different, but it is a bit interesting from the point of view, the pitch, its orientation, the outfield.
“Yankee stage, it's a kind of strange orientation. It is a very tight pitch. It is the smallest pitch in the competition.
“Some of your decisions in terms of how you are going to play and who you are going to select to play must be based on the conditions and understanding that it is a very tight pitch.”

The revs took a number of “different” decisions in the low season and chose to separate with three of their top four MLS scorers last season in Giacomo Vrioni (nine goals), Bobby Wood (four goals) and Esmir Bajraktarevic (three goals).
The pigeons also opted for a change in the environment and appointed head coach Pascal Jansen, who supervised his first MLS victory in a 2-1 win over Orlando City SC last time-out.
New York suffered only one defeat in their home base Yankee Stadium in the competition last season and will want to continue that run against the wrestling speed.
Players to watch
New York City FC – Alonso Martinez
Alonso Martinez scored on Saturday in New York's victory over Orlando, his 10th targeted seasonal goal since MLS returned from the Leagues Cup break last August.
That hot streak lets him tied up with Christian Benteke for most goals in the competition in that period.
New England Revolution – Carles Gil
The struggles of the speed for the goal are well documented, but Carles Gil can be central to all hope of reversing their attacking fortunes.
The midfielder led his team for touches (87) and Passen (61) in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Philadelphia Union, and is expected to pull the strings in New York again.
Match Prediction – New York City FC Win
New York will be the heavy favorites on the way in this collision, because of their strong head-to-head record in this fixture and the recent struggles of the Revs.
NYCFC has indeed won four of their last five home games against New England in all competitions (D1), so that clean sheets are stored in four of the five games.
The side of Jansen won only three of their first nine home games against the Revs (D2 L4) with only one clean sheet in those matches – but a change in the recent record is far from expected on Saturday.
New England did not score in their first three games of a season for the third time in club history (2014, 2015). Only two teams in the MLS history, Colorado Rapids in 2015 and Toronto FC in 2007 are excluded in each of their first four games of a regular season earlier.
However, they could be the third here, since NYCFC has won four of their last five home games that will return to the end of last season (L1).
