Chelsea will be confronted this summer with fierce competition from both home and abroad for Bournemouth Center-back Dean Huijsen. The blues have identified the Spain U21 International as a potential transfer target while they draw up plans to upgrade the defensive options of Enzo Maresca at the end of the season. But Newcastle belongs to a long list of clubs that are ready to throw their hat in the ring for the Cherries Ace after his amazing debut Premier League season at the Vitality Stadium. The Magpies have had Huijsen on their radar since last year when he made an impression on loan at Roma by Juventus. The teenager born in Dutch was one of the many cheaper alternatives that Newcastle considered in addition to their failed striving for Marc Guehi.
The side of Eddie Howe had saved four bids with a big money for the English international last summer and he remains a name of enormous interest. Chelsea and Tottenham, who have rejected their own bid in recent weeks, remain enthusiastic about the Crystal Palace captain.
