Newcastle eye Champions League winner in fresh Alexander Isak transfer twist

Newcastle wants to sign a new striker with Alexander Isak who wants to leave the club and Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos has now emerged as a potential target

Newcastle is said to be interested in Champions League -winning striker Goncalo Ramos as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak. Isak has expressed the wish to leave this summer and Liverpool has rejected an offer with a big money for the Swede.

Newcastle is looking for replacements for Isak and Benjamin Sesko has emerged as their top goal. Manchester United is also interested in the 22-year-old and Newcastle are now weighing their options.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Newcastle is willing to continue to other goals if it emerges that Sesko would rather become a member of United. The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain star Ramos has emerged as an alternative option.

Ramos scored 19 goals in 46 performances in all competitions last season and helped PSG to win the Champions League, Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. It is claimed that Newcastle first considered signing Ramos three years ago before Isak became a member and PSG is public to let him leave this summer.

It comes when Newcastle -Baas Eddie Howe spoke about the future of Isak, with the striker to report for training prior to their Premier League opener later this month. “You have to earn the right to train with us,” said Howe.

“We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a team – you have to act in the right way. So that is also the case.

“We will ensure that every player does that to earn the right to train with the group. No player can expect to act poorly and train normally with the group. Of course I would like him (there), but I don't know whether he will do that on time at the moment.

“We have been here with the time difference, preparing for training and games. Other people have had to deal with that situation at home.”

Newcastle value isak for £ 150 million and Howe has admitted that the situation is “far from ideal”, which says: “I think I am very removed from everything that happens at home.

“That offer was rejected before I heard about it. There are people back in England who treat the situation. I really don't know what's going to happen, but from our perspective we still support Alex in every possible way, and my wish is still that we see him again in a Newcastle shirt.

“I know where he is through the media, so I think it is difficult for me to go into detail from that perspective. The situation is far from ideal. It's pretty complex. I think that's all I have to say.”
