Fans of Newcastle took over Covent Garden for the Carabao Cup final on Sunday against Liverpool.

The men of Eddie Howe want to put an end to a 70-year-old trophy hoodoo by beating the Premier League leaders at Wembley tomorrow.

It will be the first final of Newcastle since losing the Carabao Cup to Manchester United for two years.

And hope is high after thousands of dedicated Geordies have traveled to London.

They are generally considered as some of the most passionate supporters in English football.

But the Magpies took on things a level when they spent Saturday with parties in Covent Garden.

Thousands of supporters took to the streets to toast the Newcastle trip to the capital.

And the tone believers hope that their long journey from the northeast tomorrow will be rewarded with the victory at Wembley.

Newcastle will be against Liverpool without four senior players, including star player Anthony Gordon.
