Newcastle and Manchester United are both like RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, but the Magpies have now viewed Goncalo Ramos from PSG as a possible forward target
Newcastle keeps an eye on PSG's Goncalo Ramos, because they weigh potential pointed options, in which Manchester United Target Benjamin Sesko is also involved.
The frontman of RB Leipzig has emerged as a player who is being searched for this week by Newcastle and the Red Devils, where the first sees the Slovenian as a possible replacement for Alexander Isak, who is now on Liverpool's radar while he regards his options.
Newcastle has rejected an opening offer for Sesko and discuss the possibility to pursue Ramos at PSG, with the French side open to his exit. The Magpies considered the Portuguese attacker an option three years ago before they signed Isak.
Ramos was then in Benfica, but later came to the French champions. However, he is by no means an ordinary starter in Paris and the striker, still only 24, is considered a target in St James' Park after scoring 33 goals of 86 games in the Parc des Princes.
The priority goal of Newcastle is Sesko, but they will look elsewhere when negotiations go south, reports the Daily Mail. Eddie How's side saw a bid of £ 69.8 million including add-ons rejected. Discussions take place about the structure of that deal, while they have not made an offer in Manchester.
Sesko is open to both projects at the respective Premier League clubs, although it is Newcastle that can offer him Champions League football for the coming season. The Slovenian was absent at Leipzig's pre-season friendly loss against Atalanta on Saturday because of his expected departure. He reportedly told his teammates that he will leave, according to heaven in Germany.
Marcel Schafer, director of RB Leipzig for Sport, has confirmed that interested parties have expressed their wish to take the player. He said: “We will not go into detail in detail, but if I say that different clubs have shown strong interest and have made approaches, it is clear what happened.”
United has already added Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer, but wants a no. 9. It is clear that Leipzig is interested in Rasmus Hojlund of United and has considered a possible loan. The German club had proposed to take Hojlund on loan as part of every deal that brings Sesko to Manchester.
Newcastle is also interested in Brentford's Yoane Wissa, who was not part of the Brentford team for their friendly against QPR on Saturday, while looking away from the outfit of West London.
