Palace chose to sell Joachim Andersen to Fulham for £ 30 million.
Spurs also failed in a bid for Guehi during the January window.
They saw a similar offer rejected because of the conditions – and the late approach.
Chelsea likes to have returned their former Academy player to the club while Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen his back line.
The Italian wants to add a defender who is comfortable on the ball.
Maresca is also a big fan of Bournemouth's £ 50 million men Dean Huijsen.
However, the blues there have a lot of competition to do.
Guehi played 41 games this season for the South London side, including 32 league games that have seen him score three goals.
The former Swansea leenlee has cemented this place in the arrangement of England since he joined Palace in 2021.
He made his three lions debut under Gareth Southgate in 2022 and started all the matches of England at Euro 2024, except the quarterfinals against Switzerland when he was suspended.
