Newcastle United has to respond to their latest setback in the transfer market – at a time when it is assumed that there is no way back for Alexander Isak.
It is on the rise that Nicolas Jackson is in line as a potential signing, with club sources that indicate that he is being seen as a direct replacement for Isak, which insists to join Liverpool in what a British record transfer would be.
It still marks a turbulent twist in which becomes a deeply frustrating summer on Tyneside.
Newcastle has already missed a series of top goals – the newest is Benjamin Sesko, who has sealed a move to Manchester United. But the Isak situation now looms up.
The Swedish striker has considerably breaking down the relationships in the club, with tensions that have been bubbling at the surface in recent weeks. Isak was even told to stay away from a barbecue of a club family in the midst of the Fallout.
Although Liverpool has followed his situation closely and had personal conditions for relocation, Newcastle has insisted that they do not allow them until they have a replacement through the door.
That replacement, they believe, could be Jackson.
The Magpies actively explore a deal for the Chelsea Forward, with the intention of an offer worth around £ 60 million. However, Chelsea demands closer to £ 80 million – and is supposed to encourage rival interest to strengthen their hand. Bayern Munich are one of the teams in the photo.
Yet the importance of Newcastle is not speculative. The club sees Jackson stylistic as a suitable fit to fill the Isak – possibly – and his arrival could unlock the deal that sends their current starers to Anfield.
Jackson is not the only name in the game. The interest in Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa has not disappeared, although the prices are gone, remains difficult.
In the meantime, Newcastle is also following Yoane Wissa van Brentford.
Sources indicate that instead of seeing him as a replacement for Isak, it is thought that he would be more in line with the replacement of Callum Wilson – who joined West Ham United.
