Newcastle United Sporting Director Paul Mitchell will leave his role at the club next month due to mutual permission.
Mitchell, who was previously sports director at Tottenham Hotspur, joined Newcastle in July 2024 to replace Dan Ashworth, who left for a role at Manchester United.
Although they are forced to sell players such as Yankuba Minth and Elliot Anderson to meet the Premier League profit and sustainability rules, the Magpies won the EFL Cup and claimed their first major trophy in 70 years.
They also qualified for next season's Champions League, despite a last day of defeat against Everton.
CEO of Newcastle Darren Eales will also resign soon due to health reasons.
Eales and Mitchell previously worked together in Tottenham, with the latter the departure of Eales as a reason for his own explained.

Mitchell said: “I would like to thank everyone at Newcastle United in the past year for their support, including Eddie Howe, Becky Langley, the players, employees, owners and fans. It was an honor to be part of the club and to work with some incredible people.
“I leave at a time that is suitable for me and the club, especially with Darren Eales – someone with whom I work so closely in my career – quickly on.
“The club is in good hands on and out of the field and is in a fantastic position to continue building.
“I would like everyone to be connected to Newcastle United a clear and successful future.”
There was speculation of tension between Mitchell and Howe at the start of the season, although the duo stated that they were on the same page with regard to transfers.
