
Alan Shearer has revealed that players from Newcastle were banned to drink alcohol during their open-top bus parade on Saturday.
The side of Eddie Howe ended their long 70-year waiting time for a domestic trophy on 16 March after beating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, thanks to goals from the local hero than Burn and Alexander Isak. Federico Chiesa has set up a grandstand finish, but the Magpies held up to write history.
To commemorate their first trophy since 1969, the club organized a bus parade through the Newcastle city center.
It is estimated that 150,000 Newcastle fans were present to celebrate the performance – but it was a sober for the players.
Magpies Legend Shearer revealed on the rest is football podcast: 'They have Brentford on Wednesday and they trained yesterday.
'They train today, they train Monday, they train Tuesday and they also train on Wednesday morning.

The Open Topbus started at 4:30 and tied its way to the city of Moor, where a celebration of a ticket for a Q&A with club legends in Newcastle, including Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer.
The current team went on stage to greet their fans at 6.30 pm, with Newcastle Superfans Ant and DEC led a singing of 'Toon! Show! '
The players and employees on stage took turns up the cup, with Ant and Dec that encouragement shouted and the masses of fans they applaud.
After interviews with Eddie Howe and assistant manager Jason Tindall, club captain Bruno Guimaraes led the crowd in a Singalong by Hey Jude before launching a round of terrace songs.
Newcastle is currently in sixth place in the table and will be happy to qualify for the Champions League.
Their victory at Wembley has earned them a place in the play-off of the Conference League, which would be expected of the Magpies to win, although they would like to try to cash in on a more reputable competition if the chance had to arise.
The Magpies return to action against Brentford in St James' Park on Wednesday evening.
