What Newcastle wants to complete a good window
Sky Sports News' Keith Downie:
“It was announced on Monday that Callum will leave Wilson, so that Alexander Isak simply leaves behind a recognized no. 9, so Newcastle will add another in that position.
“We have been saying for a while that Newcastle is talking to Burnley about goalkeeper James Trafford.
“He is the keeper they hope for, then a right -sided defender and a striker who enters Isak next to Isak.
“If Newcastle is possible, it's a good window for them.”
Why Newcastle Elanga has signed
Sky Sports' Adam Bate:
Anthony Elanga is one of the most explosive players in the Premier League and there is already excitement about how he could become a favorite with fans at Newcastle. That speed is the most obvious feature of his game – and the statistics are propagating that.
Micky van de Ven registered the top speed in the Premier League last season, but you don't have to dig much deeper to reveal that Elanga was the striking sprinter in the competition. Seven of the 20 fastest sprints in the Premier League were his.
For context, nobody else in the top 20, including Van de Ven, such a speed touch more than once. Elanga, whose robustness is being illustrated by the fact that he could be seen in all 38 of the Premier League matches of Nottingham Forest, brought that pace time and time again.
Eddie Howe will want to use that undoubtedly threat on the counterattack, but the 23-year-old former winger in Manchester United has shown under Nuno Espirito Santo that there is now much more than just those extraordinary physical attributes.
Newcastle feels like a perfect step-up for target-driven Elanga
Sky Sports' William Bitibiri:
After spending time looking at the preparations of Anthony Elanga for the last season, it was clear that the ambition trickled him out, like the sweat from his forehead after he was put through his personal strength and conditioning coach, Tom Joyce, through his suits.
It was in those sessions where he prepared for his most productive season with 18 target contributions in 43 performances in all competitions. It is in his last ball where Elanga has added a further dimension to his game.
Ambitions, while admitting that they played a major role in his development during and after life at Manchester United, were held personally, but the desire to improve his previous year was loud.
In many ways it was the outbreak after the outbreak for Elanga. The 23-year-old became the embodiment of the threat of Nottingham Forest on the countertop, whereby they were punishing the party when Forest and narrowly missed the qualification of the Champions League.
Elanga added a new dimension to his game on the city, with his creative return of 11 competition assists, building on nine from the previous campaign. He will have an eye on the further development of this area while he is preparing to join his Swedish countryman and important sniper, Alexander Isak, in St James' Park – and a manager in Eddie Howe who has long been an admirer.
His former clubman UTD has provided or not with the impact that Elanga could have, but they can have the talent cultivated by Carrington left in 2023. However, Elanga's decision to leave Old Trafford is not one where he mourns when he is preparing for Champions League Football at the Toon.
