An amazing Sandro Tonali-Cross-shot turned out to be enough when Newcastle United Brentford defeated 2-1 in their first game since he fuss the EFL cup.
Tonali caught Mark Flekken overwhelmed with a powerful attack of the right touchline that could be a purpose of the seasonal aid if the Italian midfielder meant it.
Alexander Isak had previously scored his 20th Premier League goal of the season, on pouring in the excellent cross of Jacob Murphy in the first half of the stop time.
But Brentford hit back in the 66th minute with a penalty from Bryan Mbeumo, who converted cool past Nick Pope after the goalkeeper of the Magpies Yoane Wissa had brought down.
The side of Thomas Frank then looked forward to go in front, with Ethan Pinnock that struck the pole with a header only two minutes after the bees had drawn level.
But the visitors were made to pay for their wasted opportunities when Tonali hit his striking winner 16 minutes from time, although Brentford had their chances of late.
Kevin Damage and Mikkel Damsgaard wasted two glorious possibilities to close part of the loot, with Newcastle retaining a vital victory.
The Eddie Howe team went to the fifth in the Premier League table while having champions League football this season. In the meantime, Brentford remains in 11th place.
Alexander Isak's goal against Brentford was his 20th in the Premier League this season, 10 at home and 10 gone. The only other Newcastle players who score 10+ goals, both at home and road in the competition, are Andrew Cole (1993-94) and Alan Shearer (2001-02).#Newbre pic.twitter.com/7hjd0f6mw4

Data Debrief: Alexander the Great
After reaching 20 goals before the break, Isak became the third Newcastle striker in the Premier League history – after Alan Shearer and Andy Cole – to score 10 at home and 10 -way goals in one campaign.
The Swede is now only one shy of Erling Haaland (21) in the Golden Boot Race and, with the Norwegian who is now injured, it seems to finish second to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (27).
Newcastle has now also won 10 of their last 12 league matches against Brentford (D1 L1) and scored two or more goals in 11 of those competitions.
On the other hand, this defeat was the newest example of Brentford's limitations in the Premier League this period. Nine of the 12 wins of the bees have come to the table against teams among them, while 10 of their 13 defeats have come to the parties in the division.
